Like Johnm1 says, Oo-berr-tee. The Italian "U" is "oo" as "school." Undici or eleven is oon-dee-chee. Capisci?

It's oo-ber-tee.

and don't forget the rolling r.

And yes, since everybody here will know what you mean, it's like wondering wherther it's McDonalds or Mac Donalds.

I've always said oo-ber-tee myself. But then, I know a lot of Italians (not eye-talians!).

But I still can't say Isuzu...

If the poll results continue the trend, I'll have to pronounce it "get-a-life-grymster"

Lived over there for 5 years in the 80's and believe it's pronounced oo bare tee.... Honestly the Italians don't really care how you say it as long as you are forking over some cash......

It is Italian. It is pronounced oo-bare-tee or more precisely ew-bear-tee

Uberti.

I've always said oo-bert-ee.
My high school latin teacher said the "U" was "oo", so that's the way I've always said it. She was right (and you failed if you didn't agree ).

I voted for "get a life though".
Not many guys here with the sense of humor or the juevos to put that in a survey.

Doesn't matter though. Fine guns either way.

Is there a reason for this question? Not pickin' on ya, but sometimes there's a story.

I've always been comfortable with self-deprecating humor and I think more humor in general on this forum would be a good thing. Life's better when you laugh, even if it's at yourself.

Sorry, no story. Just like to be right.... every now and then. Besides, it was bugging me!!! I guess if I'd thought it through, I would have realized that anyone I might say the word to, would get it regardless of pronunciation.
