550B & .223 - Pistolier has a question
I've been loading pistol rounds for a while and am use to balancing bullets on the belled case just before raising the platform to seat them.
Well, this boy is gonna get into rifles this year Did a practice run loading .223 Rem. and rifle cases don't get belled. Them thar dinky bullets don't balance worth a darn! Suckers 'ill scatter worse than a tube of primers without the retaining clip. Anyways, the best procedure I came up with was to hold the bullet in place while raising the platform till the bullet would lean against the seating die while tottering on the case mouth and let go, then continue raising to seat the bullet. Is this the right way or am I missing something? P.S. Kids, when switching powder bars remember to cinch down the bar volume first |
