Chronograph

I need a new Chronograph.

Would like to hear what you have and are you happy with it.

Mine is pretty old and doesn't give me the right speeds anymore.

It will be used for developing loads.

how do you know that it is giving you bad fps readings? check batteries , shoot when it is cloudy and move the first screen out to 7 or 8 feet from the muzzle to avoid muzzle blast.

CED Millennium II, I'm very happy with it. Check out some of the past threads and you'll find a treasure trove of info.

Steveno: It was cloudy today and I tried it again with 45ACP loads. What do you know I had loads at the speeds I expected. I also got farther away. Maybe I was getting false readings because I was to close.

My problem I have had in the past is the speed is so slow I know they are wrong. My 1911 is not going to function at 345fps.

It seems to read lead bullets better than jacketed.

Thanks

I still want to buy a new one

Chrono

CED Millennium II, with the case if you can.
it has room for a small load book and straps for a tripod.
Come with software so you can D/L a full days shooting
Battery lasts several outings (with storage for a spare) and the memory is good for about 1000 strings of shots.
It will also tell you the FPS out loud of your last shot if you like.
I blasted my Chrony with a 44 and got this one....couldn't be happier
They run about $199 just about everywhere and $40 for the case

I was seeing 180 fps from my SP101 with the same loads that read 900+ out of my Security Six.

Moving back about 4 feet cured that. It was probably reading smoke.
