Arsenal AK price

Found an Arsenal AK with a rail system for $1200. Rail on top for optics and around the grip. Has a plastic/rubberized stock, no wood furniture. Good price or no?

Pass on that unless it comes with the Aimpoint. I have a SGL21 with a railed handguard and it is OK. However if I could do it over, I'd get standard polymer furniture and add an Ultimak rail to the gas tube.

Yeah, it sounded pretty high, which is why i was asking yall

However, what would make an ak worth 1200? what should i look for in this one, im not sure of all the details of it, only handled it for a short time. It is similiar to the ones yall showed but it has a rail on top as well, in place of where normally the rear sight would be and basically runs the full length and a quad rail in the front. other than that, i dont know about other accessories to the rifle, maybe some internal things.

Whatever the market will bare, and how bad a person wants one. Availability is also an issue.
The Arsenal AK is a very fine tool. It is made in America. I would look for the one that has the solid block steel receiver. It is built like a tank and very accurate. I bought a SAM 7 many years ago and would not part with it. Extremely reliable and accurate. Probably the most accurate AK I ever fired, and I've shot quite a few. At 100 yards with the original factory sights, I can consistently hit a tennis ball. Not too bad for 62 year old eyes. They are pricey, so try to find a used one. If you do get one, shoot different brands of ammo to see what the AK likes to eat. Good luck!

There is a huge disconenct between the different "Arsenal" rifles:

You have the Bulgarian made milled and stamped.

You have the dressed up Saiga ( russian)

You have the ones made of mostly Bulgarian parts, but assembled in Nevada ( the most expensive) and labled "us made".

I suggest you tell us the model, and place of manufacture before ANY ONE can tell you if it is a "good deal" or not.

Jeez louise. Build your own from a sporterized Saiga. You'd come out about $500 ahead.

My friend has two Arsenals, a milled and stamped. Both ran him about $950 IIRC.

If its and arsenal IZMASH Legion, then it is a 1000 dollar gun based on what Kvar wants to charge for it.

An unconverted Saiga costs 325 at centerfiresystems .

The conversion can be looked up at the Saiga 12 forum.

You really should be able to do the conversion for 600 total cost, if your handy. If you're all butterfingers, or like me w/ no shop at the moment, then you can just get a bullet ramp kit from dinzag arms and ( 30+ dollars) and put a nice full capacity mag in your sporterized russian Ak for less than 400.

too bad you did not grab one of those up when K-var was in a bad need of a cash influx and sold them at rock bottom clearance prices for $595 ( railed version)....you will never see good prices like that again.

I pimped the hell out of that sale, but some people did not listen, and were too late
