My first 9mm reloads

So I shot some of my own 9mm reloads today, and I'm happy to report that I did not blow up, nor did I destroy my gun. Great success! This first batch was a bit underpowered, I had a vew FTE's. I think I can solve that by bumping the charge up a little bit.

Congrats and welcome to the world of ammo tinkering. I've been reloading for a few years now but I have to admit, when I fired my first handload, I hid behind my truck bumper and reached around and pulled the trigger.
Silly I know, but I figured maybe I would blow my finger off but at least not put out an eye!

My first reloading ventures were with the original Lee loader and a Ruger .357 Mag. Blackhawk. That one SHOULD HAVE blown up, because I loaded a 140 gr. cast bullet with over 15 gr. of bullseye. There were very small flame cuts on the front face of the cylinder around each chamber, but the gun held together. Maybe Dick Casull had a similar experience, and thus chose to develop the .454 with Ruger guns.
What gun are you using, Kuhio? I've been loading sane but full house 9mm for about 15 years now, and currently use them in a Ruger P-95 and a Glock 19. Within the design limits of the guns and the cartridge, we don't need no stinkin' .357!

you should have on hand a good scale IMO.
I load the 9mmPara with Bullseye for cast slugs and Power Pistol for jacketed with good results.
good luck!
