Until a few weeks ago the Dragons Breath shells were being advertised in Gun List. Has anyone here ever played with any of these? What were your impressions? I thinking just for fun or..........................

Gunslinger,
Check further down (earlier in time) on this forum for a pretty comprehensive discussion on the subject. Alternatively, use the search feature.

Thanks ya'll. I checked out their web site and didn't specifically see the dragons breath advertised. But after doing the search and reading comments it really doesn't look like the fun factor would justify the cost. Maybe I should look for a second hand flame thrower instead.

They're neat and yes they are impressive. (Extremely cool at night) But they have no value other than entertainment.

Buy buckshot or slugs instead.

Thank you Diverdown and welcome to TFL. My only interest was entertainment. I've loaded everything from carpet tacks to fish sinkers crimped onto fishing line.
I'm seriously considering getting back into trap shooting after a 20+ absence. If so I may experiment with some of my own pyrotechniques.

Gunslinger, if you want entertainment than they WILL provide that!

They are OK during the day, but AWESOME at night. Try to have someone take pictures or videotape you.

Thanks for the welcome. I also hang out on Glock Talk and AR15.com.

I read somewhere that these were made to be used by tactial entry teams much in the same way flashbang grenades are used. I bought some of these a few years ago and they were impressive but they are not lethal and will not ignite anything which is the way they are designed

Tactical teams do use specialized shotgun
ammunition: chemical agent, less lethal,
breaching, flash-sound diversion, etc.,
but geneally prefer to procure them from
major manufacturers (Def-Tec, Fiocci,
MSI, MK Ballistics, Royal Arms). Other
manufacturers rely on the reputation of
these types of munitions in LE use as a
marketing tool for their own products.
