Flight Cases: Reloaded
So I know there have been flight case questions on here before, but with the ever changing transportation rules, I want to know what people think. I'll be out to PA for a wedding in a month and am hoping to carry for the long weekend out there. Getting the gun there is my only concern. I just have the factory case, not lockable. So I need to find a flight case, something lockable and airline approved if anyone could recommend one. Secondly, I'm just wondering how people feel about doing this these days. Last I heard, we're not allowed to lock our luggage, so something small like a pistol case could easily get swiped and then just have the "lucky" finder spend my vacation weekend cracking it, since it'd be small enough to carry relatively inconspicuously and something that small would certainly not be foolproof to a chisel on the hinge or something. Anyway, just wondering what the general attitude is around here on leaving relatively stealable pistol cases in luggage, or whether someone knows some security measure in place that I don't.
Thanks! |

And actually, part 3: Could I just ship it to myself at the hotel via secure FedEx or something? Seems easier than dealing with an airport.
I know all the general rules too, I was just going to buy ammunition out there etc. to avoid the hassle of two locked cases. |

Aren't handguns ... verboten in Chicago? I dunno if I'd want to be in O'Hare or Midway with a handgun.
Do you have a PA carry permit, or were you going open carry?
