Got a new Redhawk, I'm doing mo own "trigger job" by hand polshing only, I'm not changing angles. Are there any dangers with "overpolshing."

HKG3, yes there is. If you reduce the engagement too much the gun may not cock. DA revolvers are really not the best guns to do your first trigger work on. There are a lot more parts involved than just the trigger/sear/hammer train. If you do go to far though, I'm sure that your local smith will be happy to help you. George

My Redhawk came from the factory with an eight pound single action pull.
Redhawks are very touchy to get a decent pull weight. The single spring system is a pain. Changing angles brings a lighter pull with a host of other problems. Push off and hammer catching the sear as the trigger is pulled are two. Fine stones for polishing every moving part can make a big difference. Don't forget spots where the rame rubs against the hammer. Follow with a good oil for lubrication. ------------------ |
