Desert Eagle Loads
I have a D.E. in .50 and was wondering if I should tone them down because it's a semi auto. Light factory loads vs. heavy handloads.
I loaded some today and they seemed super hot. Much more than factory. I dunno if it was just me or what but I was starting from the light loads. I thought it might be an error so I pulled some bullets and everything was correct. |

The 50 AE is a hefty load. if they are cycling right and the load is within specs, it should be OK. Too mild loads will not cycle properly. I never ownd one but had a black 44 mag for awhile and a friend had both 50 AE and 44 barrells

Wow, that was quick.
I was using some H110 *IIRC* and low loads and it kicked like a *****. Much worse than others I've loaded. It the first time I've used this powder. It loaded without a hitch most of the time. The problems I had were 1d10t error. Too little crimp . |

The .50 AE was designed around the Desert Eagle so it should handle any SAAMI spec load with no problem.

Well I check everything out and it's all good. Loads are normal and cycling is fine.
Fired about 40 rounds tonight without a hitch. Gotta find a lighter, less punishing load. |
