Add Remington Managed Recoil to that list.

Really, all of these are standard .30-06 rounds. They all use the same case, except some blanks may have a slightly longer neck which is crimped closed.

There isn't another smaller compatible round like .38 Special for the .357 Magnum, if that's what you are asking.

AP's if you can find a source. Link-belt stuff is pretty common.

nothing 30-06 is all.... not the same as 357 and 38, dont work that way on rifles... if it did i guess .308 would be the next size down, or maybe 8mm....
DON'T try it though 30-06 is all that will work!!!!

The .30-06 comes in a variety of flavors from 110gr up to 250gr, though I've only heard rumors about that last one. It also varies from a copper alloy bullet to steel jacketed lead. There are probably more types of bullets for the .30-06 and more different propellant charges than any other center fire cartridge.

Pick what you want to shoot and the odds are good that there's a round for the .30-06 that will do the job.

Nothing, if you have a 30-06 then you shoot 30-06. Differant weights, and the viarity of military rounds listed above, but they are 30-06.

I dont know what you are looking for. I'll assume its an alternitive to the pricey '06 ammo, if thats the case, then try shooting cast bullets. I have had good luch shooting cast bullets. Accurate and its about as cheap of shooting as you can get.

Even the army over the years developed loads using cast bullets for gallery or indoor armory ranges. (more so the national guard then the army).

Your can load just about any .30 caliber bullet (.306 - .308 diameter) and shoot them in a 30.06. In fact you can even find legitimate 30.06 loading data for pretty much any .30 caliber bullet. I've loaded (and shot) 55 gr .224 w/sabot, 110gr plinkers, 130 gr hollow points, 150 gr (all types) 162 gr AP, 165gr, 180gr and 220gr (kicks like a mule). Besides being an extremely effect hunting bullet for all No. American big game, there is no other cartridge that offers the range of reloading possibilities and versatility. It can be as accurate as any caliber around. Doubters - Google Carlos Hathcock.

While most of us will understand exactly what you are talking about, This OP just might not be one of them.
We have to remember that many novices refer to cartridges as bullets.

Yup, I wonder what percentage of the pop. thinks a bullet is the entire loaded cartridge ready to be fired.

If it doesn't say "30-06" on the box do not shoot it from your rifle.

I've been around a while and I have never seen a .306" .30-06 Springfield. Is this an odd ball of some type?

How about the 300 Winchester Magnum let alone any other 30 caliber cartridge that can push the same range of bullets at near and above the 06's levels?

Exactly right, don’t ever shoot any ammunition that is not designated as .30-06 Springfield.

I guess I want to summarize what I have read. That is any factory loaded 30-06 cartridge can be safely fired in your rifle. But only 30-06 rounds.

All factory rounds are loaded so that their pressures are safe to use in all modern 30-06 bolt rifles. If this was a semi automatic, then not all factory ammunition is appropriate, because gas systems limit what a gas gun can use.

Your rifle is one of the strongest, safest rifles on the market, and I hope you enjoy yours.
