vertical group?
hey guys i have a '36 tula refurb mosin nagant and when i group it at 100 yards the groups it produces are about 2" wide but the group measures around 5-6" up and down. is there anything I can do to fix this and make the groups better?

Assuming you can fire tight groups with similar rifles with iron sights, it's probably the bedding of the action/barrel on the Mosin you are shooting is torqued some how. Check your action screws first for tightness. dxr . |

the barrel bands are a pain to get off, i wonder if they could be too tight?

I cant really see the barrel bands being the problem.
I'd tighten all the screws, including the recoil bolt. The only vertical groups I've had before were from not maintaining a consistent sight picture with a three post sight.
