Sarge's new tuxedo gun. I feel like Bond, only better.
Picked up my new Dan Wesson Valor yesterday afternoon and she had natural Ivory shoes on before bedtime last night. I think the two were just born for each other. I left the bottoms flat "magwell style" just because I like the way it looks on this weapon.
VERY well made weapon if you've never seen one before. Lot's of handfitting and the quality just oozes from it when you have it in your hand. On to the pics! Sarge |

SWEEET!
I'm trying to get my hands on another Bobtail. DW makes a great pistol.

IMO that "honey" would look even better with black trigger.

Yep, you've convinced me with those pictures. That's a fine looking 1911, and I'm going to have to get me one of those. I'm actually thinking (well just for a second) of trading my really nice Sig P220 SAO that I just got. If I didn't already have a nice 1911, I'd trade the Sig off.

Sophijo,
My custom weapons all have the STI carbon long trigger in them. I'm seriously considering changing this one out to that one also. Thanks for the opinion! Sarge |

yeah, the silver/gray finish of the trigger just looks out of place.

that is a beautiful looking gun, i do agree about the trigger though. I think an all black STI or Fusion trigger would look sexy

Only have 300 rounds through mine when it was purchased in January. Thought about changing grips but haven't come across anything I liked better than the stock.

Darn, here I was hoping you had started making grips for the PPK.

I went out and purchased a PPK to do just that. Every time I think I have time cleared to start on that front, it disappears. I even knocked my job back to 4 days a week to have more time in the shop and THAT time got taken up. The 1911's are keeping me running non stop. Good problem to have, but I still want to branch out at some point.
I think my stainless PPK/S would look sweet with some Amboyna Burl on it! Sarge |

Sarge
Great looking weapon Sarge, James Bond has nothing on you and that's for sure. If you don't mind my asking, what does a gun like that cost?

While ivory grips aren't really my thing, they look pretty good on your DW. I agree though, it would look even better with a black trigger as well.

Christian, those are the real deal. I bought the scales a while back and haven't run into a good excuse to use them, until now.
The MSRP on Valor's is higher, but they can be found for "street prices" of around $1,350 or so as a ballpark. Sarge |

Nice. They look quite handsome on that gun. Hope it shoots as good as it looks.

That is a beauty, Sarge
I was thinking about getting a 10mm CBOB, but that Valor is sweet... and it comes in black...
With regards to ivory, a buddy of mine has a full, pre-ban tusk. He's thinking about making it into a scabbard for his cutting sword (a grandmaster acquaintance gave him an extremely high-grade katana, with the stipulation that my friend actually has to use it, not put it on display), but he's waiting until his carving skills are up to the task. |

Beautiful firearm there. I would have swapped the 30-LPI checkering for a chain-link scallop on the frontstrap and the mainspring cover. Just personal preference.

Trying to decide if I'd prefer...
... a black solid trigger, or a black skeletonized trigger with your pistol, Sarge43.
Either way, I'd go with black. Your pistol looks great as is, don't get me wrong, but I do think the all black and white motif would look sharper. Cheers, M |
