Question on 2 3/4 shot shell

Can you take a 2 3/4 12 gage shell and load it like you would with lead shot but use steel shot??? Like 1 1/4 steel shot instead of lead??

No. Steel shot is much harder than lead and doesn't "flow" through the choke as easily. You should use steel shot data and components.

The wads are made of heaver plastic to prevent the shot from scrubbing the barrel walls.

The answer is yes, you can reload steel shot. You need the correct wad for steel shot and you must use the steel shot loading data.

Loading steel shot is really a PITA if you ask me. I find it far easier to just buy the box or two that I use every year. If you don't store the ammo properly, it can rust in the shell and cause problems. I prefer Winchester DryLock myself. Steel shot reloading requires different EVERYTHING except the hulls themselves. I simply don't have the moolah to convert over for the litle bit of steel that I shoot. YMMV.
