Variance in weight and length

What is an acceptable variance in bullet weight and lenght. I have about 200 Reming PSP W/C that vary .02 in length and .8 grains in weight. Also is the lenght difference enough to change pressures due to differences in case capacity because of seating depth changing the amount of open space in loaded cartridge?? Does this make sense???

This is normal. If you look at the lead tips you will find many are deformed. That is why we measure the ogive instead of the tip. Some reloaders will sort their brass and bullets by weight. The slight change in lenght will not have an effect on pressure providing you are not loading hot.

More normal in some bullets than in others. My reloading buddy tried Berger VLD's in .264. Their weights were extremely consistent but their lengths were so bad that you could stack them side-by-side and see the differences. He now uses his remaining supply only to fireform brass to AI.

Hello, I am a cast-bullet fanatic. I had worked up an accurate load in my Hornet & .222 Rem. that equaled the best match-bullet accuracy. Now I weigh each of those little pills in order to acomplish that. I had bought some Berger match bullets for load development in a .219 Wasp. On a whim, I decided to weigh them..I was shocked to see such a weight span..I usually hold my cast .22's to + or - .1 gr. these were all over the shop!
