After a long search I finally located an Ithaca DS police special with 7 round magazine, blued finish, checkered stock, engraved receiver. The magazine tube has some rust and was wondering how to remove it for replacement. Is it threaded into the receiver? If so what is the best way to remove it without marring the finish. Also the stock is a little short for me and was thinking about adding a whiteline magnum recoil pad to it to lengthen the pull on it as I had done to my Beretta BL3 a while back. What is the procedure for fitting a recoil pad or should I pay a smith to do it.Thanks to all who responded to my search a month or so ago.
