I have several 32 cal pistols. a32 regulation police, a 30-1, a 16-4 and now a single 7 in 327. I load 32S&W, 32S&W long, 32 H&R mag and 327 Mag. I too want a 327 rifle and have decided to build one. I have a H&R single shot and am going to build a barrel ( using a used 32-20 barrel) and chamber it to 327. Probably more work than it is worth but I don't care. I would buy a Marlin 32 H&R mag 1994 and rechamber it but they have went crazy in price. The single 7 also shoots 32 auto just fine as well.

This is the cartridge for light handy carbines and long barreled pistols for coyote and ranch defense in the same way that the 30 carbine used to serve ranchers in the 50s and 60s but with a twist.... it's more versatile and can handle a wide range of cartridges and power levels. I bought a 32 SP101 as soon as I could in CA and was hot loading it to 1250 to 1350 fps before the 327was announced by Federal/Ruger. Then I picked up a marlin 32 mag cowboy but it's a fat XXX brick to carry. Not the field gun I wanted in 32 caliber. When the GP100 came out I had to have one but wished they would have offered a 6 inch barrel to take advantage of the rounds ballistics. The 4 inch barrel is also very loud and loading it to max can be a bit brutal on the ears. I want a 327 federal rifle bad because I think that would be optimum for the round, but nobody wants to make one. I bought a used Marlin CL32-20 for $500 and Browning 53 32-20 for $900 to play with to scratch my 327 rifle itch, but while fun they are a pain to reload for. I want bad to convert the browning 53 to 327 and keep the marlin original. I think the 92 action would feed 32 mag interchangeably with the 327 round unlike the marlin action that I suspect would need to be set up specifically for 327 cartridges only. Are you listening Rossi! Imagine a short magazine, 16" barrel browning 53 in 327 magnum with Ashley express or skinner sights or a stainless Rossi 92 with Steve's bolt mounted peep sight

Remember folks, it doesn't hurt to call or email the relevant manufacturers and express your demand for a .327 carbine. There are expenses involved in launching a new product line and they need to smell a profit before they invest. Whether telling them directly or indirectly--the latter is accomplished through keeping up sales numbers for factory ammo and new handguns--it's up to you to give them a whiff.

There is something about the 4 5/8" Single Seven that really speaks to me. Every time I load up for a range outing I always include that gun. I have the 5.5", which hasn't been out of the safe since the 4 5/8" arrived. I have some issues with sticking cases but should have the custom reamer soon. The gun was back to Ruger, but they wanted to scrap it rather than repair it for want of any parts (cylinders) on a gun now out of production. Truth be told, their gunsmiths are probably just over booked.

I've had my sp101 3" barrel and Blackhawk in .327 for several years now and just love them. Both are great platforms for the round and serve different purposes. The Blackhawk was my hunting revolver for coyotes but now I just use it for fun range time. The sp101 is a carry gun, nightstand gun, wife's range gun and a fun plinking gun. I love it.

Those looking for a carbine chambered in this round might want to look at a TC contender with a .327 barrel. I have one from Bullberry and it has been great.

Well, the way you put it -- sounds like you spend six hundred and dealer hands over TWO revolvers. I gotta say "DO IT!!!!!!"

However...
I wanna guess it was $599 for either revolver. In which case... yeah, sounds normal to me.

I paid $513 NIB for my Single Seven 7.5". New SP101-327 4" is $539 in my LGS. I paid $300 for my Mint In Box Taurus M327 2" stainless in July

Bit more than three years ago, I paid $530 for my GP-100 in .327 Federal... but it was a USED gun and strangely enough, the original owner sent it off to Mag-Na-Port for a two-port job.

I've put 1,700 rounds through it in that time, but I did a lot of my load development on an original SP-101 and also on a 5.5" barreled 8-shot Blackhawk.

Can't really remember now (and don't feel like digging through 53 pages in this thread, or waking the wife by digging through the document safe for receipts)....

I think I bought the Blackhawk in about June 2010 for $505.

And the GP came along about a year, year and a half, later. I wasn't as happy about that deal, but it was the only one I could get my hands on at the time.
Display/demo for 8+ months.
Several scratches.
A ding or three on the muzzle.
One minor gouge on the right side of the barrel.
Not the best fit at the trigger-housing-to-frame-joint.
...And I think I had to fork over $590.

Since I don't keep tabs on the current .327 market, that's the best I can give you....

I got my 4" SP101 new for $525 plus tax. I think that was a good price. Looking over the stock on gunbroker, I'd say $599 isn't out of line but you should definitely try to haggle.

I bought my Blackhawk several years ago (can't remember exact date) used in very good plus condition but no box for around $500. The GP-100 was a Ruger demo gun like new in the box for $529 about 6 months ago.

Man, prices on those blackhawks have gone up...I think I paid 500 or so for mine and could sell it for much more, but I'm not going to.

I think the 8 round blackhawk is not only made well, is pretty, but functions excellently as a hunting handgun too.

I just this week bought a good used 327m, Id looked for almost 2 years for a 2-3" version and this taurus came up cheap.
I wanted a revolver only for the sake of owning one and learning to shoot it well. I put 50 rounds thru it and for a little bullet it seems to pack a punch and recoil is very different than even my 1911. The sights on the taurus are almost non sights so grip and sight picture are a learning curve Ill need to master. I have been buying factory loads over the last year when ever good pricing came along so Ill have about 300 brasses for reloading.
Im asking around for powder recommendations and it seems to come down to medium burning powders like 2400 AA#9 longshot or hp110.
I have only loaded for 45acp so the powders I have are faster than most folks seem to want to use in magnum reloads.
Of the recommended powders none seem to hit my area regularly.
After shooting I noticed at least 2 cylinders seem to stick and it takes a thump to shake them free.I also noticed that single action is very light and double action is very stiff. I bet single action is 3 lbs and double action must be 12lbs or more. Im dropping the gun at my local gunsmith for a general cleaning and trigger work, and he will polish the cylinders as well. No sense even trying to figure out how to shoot until its tuned up. I think this littl 327 will make a great backup or rv gun .
If anyone is in the colorado springs area and will sell some AA#9 0r 2400 it would be appreciated just pm. me.

The more I shoot the 327 the more I like it.

I snuck out with the wife's 3" 327 SP101 last week to run some loads I use in my Single Six and Single Seven. The 357 version is my most carried gun and sees regular use at the range. The 327 SP101 is a real gem.

The best handload of the day was a 32 H&R cast load - 98gr RCBS SWC over a max published dose of Lil'Gun. Averaged just under 1150 fps.

A 32 H&R commercial load that also shined was the Black Hills 85gr JHP. It averaged a little under 950 fps.

Both 85 and 100 grain American Eagle 327 commercial ammo shot pretty well too. The 85gr load averages almost 1325 fps. I did not get a chronograph reading on the 100 gr but it shoots about 100 fps faster in my Single Seven.

My 327 Handloads did well too. The 115 grain Lyman 311008 bullet pushed to 1100+

Even 32 Longs did well

We do not have the "big guy's" laboratory, excellent tools and fat bankroll. But it sure seems to me that when it comes to .327 Federal Magnum, we have far more passion than ANY of the published data sources.
