Changing bolts
I have the 590a1 up on hangers for a HD weapon so its exposed in my bedroom. Question is, I would like to get rid of the standard black bolt, it has wear marks on it and looks like shi*. Can I buy the chrome or nickel bolts and pop it in?

"I think" (note the qualifier) that the Mossberg 590 series uses the same bolts as the 500 series.
Problem is, I don't think that Mossberg makes a plated bolt in anything but the Marinecote models, and possibly not even in them. The rest are just bright polished steel. Mossberg will not sell you a bolt unless they install it. You could just have your bolt plated by a good gun plating company like Ford's or APW/Cogan. |

You might consider an old school dress-up: How about having your bolt jeweled, aka engine turned, aka damascened? It won't change the lock-up tolerances as may happen with plating.

If its scuffing the black finish off, it'll certainly scuff up any engine turning.
Hard chrome doesn't affect lock up since hard chrome is deposited in a layer only 0.0002" thick. |

Can you hang the gun the other way so the bolt doesn't face out?
