Mossberg Shotgun

I have a question about my Mossberg 590 shotgun.

Can the magazine be easily removed once I take the barrel off of the shotgun. I Would like to be able to do this for storage reasons and taking the butstock off is a real pain. The magazine appears to be threaded for removal, but I can't seem to get it off and I don't want to force it.

Thanks

You may want to invest in a pair of "tube pliers" Brownells cataloges them. Saves you from crushing the tube. But if you don't use some type of protector between the plier jaws.
