Last week my wife tagged her first antelope on a Wyoming hunt. She had a great time and I think hunting will agree with her.
We had a small problem at approx 80 yards when the little huntress was in a good position but the safety was in the wrong position. squuuueeeeeeezzzzzzzz the trigger as the buck decided to wait no longer. She was so mad at herself! Then she did the most incredible thing. She dropped to one knee (flipped the safety to fire this time) and drilled him at over 150 yards as he was going up the other side of a small canyon. The old model 70 .243 spined him between the shoulders like a bolt of lightning. This is a gal with only 3 practice sessions with a rifle. started with a .22 scoped bolt gun and moved up to the m70.
Just thought I'd share this with you folks. As you can probably tell, I'm more than a little proud.

Kingcreek, tell you wife congradulations from us here at TFL. To have the self control to over come the inital problem with the safety and step up and make a shot like that is fantastic. It sounds like you might have the best of both worlds. A wife that understands your passion for hunting, and a new hunting partner.

Thanks Fisher,
It took us 10 years to get here. We started with:
"I don't care if you hunt, but I could NEVER eat that stuff." went to
"Well it tastes good, but I could Never shoot those animals." to
"Well maybe I could try hunting " to
"When can we go again?"
Yes, I am a fortunate guy.

In fact its making me wanna cry I was begining to think I was the only one to have someone as supportive by side.

She sounds like a natural at it already...happy hunting!
