Swapping Novaks for Milletts
Fellas,
I have a Springfield government 1911 with Millet adjustable sights mounted. The slide has been cut down slightly to lower the sights. However, the ears of the rear sight do jut out a bit, making a swipe to clear a stovepipe a wee bit sharpish. Will a set of Novak low profiles (much smoother) fit the lowered cut? I'm asking this now, will get a photo of the sights in question tomorrow or Thursday. |

Sir:
It depends how far the slide is cut down - the Novak lo-mount mills to the bottom of the rear dovetail and up to yhe front of it - this usually clears the factory dovetail down about .090. It should clean it up - you might need to contour if the slide is lowered in front of the dovetail. Harry B. |
