Midway USA

Just got my Midway catalog, in this issue they indicate that they will no longer send out monthly catalogs, they will go to a semi-annual catalog.

Just thought I'd let you all know if you hadn't
heard.

Oh well. Except for the sale items it was the same stuff everytime anyway.
I get e-mail alerts to specials so I guess I won't miss anything.

The real value Midway provides is in their truly excellent web site. I won't miss the printed catalogs.

They also mentioned that their semi-annual catalog will be larger than the monthly ones. Perhaps they are going to merge all the small ones into the semi-annual catalog.

On two occassions when I ordered from the catalogue the price on the website was less.... and I did not know it.
I called Miday to verify the shipping charges and they gave me the lower price for every item that had a reduced price without my asking.
Saved about $10 each time which was more than the shipping cost (by $2) IIRC and it came a day or two earlier than the operator at Midway quoted. No mistakes and no backorders.

I like Midway and for what I buy they usually outdo Widners etc.
I thnk the combined catalogue is a good idea.
JMHexperience so far.

Beats me.

Just got their July '02 catalog in the mail. "Last monthy catalog! see page 80." Duh, why not say look at the back cover? ? would save some time for us anal types that actually look at the numbers ....

Doesn't matter anyway. Midway's got some deals if you go through the 'net, as do others. Pick 'n choose as always for what you want to pay.

Anybody really "serious" already has their stuff on the 'net & paper cataogs are about as relevant as that old scrap of paper we used to call the constitution .....

Maybe fliers will be sent out? Anyway, a good decision by Midway. Honestly, I just toss the excess catalogs in months that I know I won't be able to spend coin on reloading. I seldom read anything but the specials in front and back.

You can sign up for ebl@st! on the website and they'll e-mail you the specials. http://www.midwayusa.com/csHelp/csEblast.html
I was bummed when they started the small order charge, most of my orders were small by their standards.
But even so, I'm compairsoned shopped and they still come out the same. Anything I order comes in 2-3 days and I've never had them screw an order up.

I haven't looked at this months catalogue yet. If they made the decision to stop the monthly mailings, good for them. I use the websight more than the catalogue. One doesn't have to be a bunny-hugging, deep green enviro-weenie, bliss-ninny to understand that these were just a waste of paper.
