copyright issues

I was going to post a story related to N O residents arming themselves when I noticed the story was marked copywrited and no repoduction was allowed. What is the proper procedure for this. Is it OK to post an AP story with the copywrite notation?

There have been instances when news agencies and the like went after forums where articles were pasted. It's a low risk because it's notoriously hard to go after people for that sort of thing.

Just quote the portion of the article you believe to be relevant -- a few paragraphs, let's say -- and include a link to the full article. That's fair use and it's fine.
