trap door on a Saiga...

So, noob question: Just got a new Saiga SGL21-71 in the mail; what is the small round trap door for on the buttstock?

Some Kalashnikovs have a "tampon" cleaning kit that goes in the buttstock with tools and accessories for taking down and cleaning the rifle. I suspect that is what you are referring to.

It is for the cleaning kit.

My Saiga will eject the cleaning kit with considerable force when you open the trapdoor.
