SHE IS HOME! (Updated with Range Report)
After months of waiting in anticipation, I have finally brought her home. Long story short, I had pre-ordered the SR1911 around May this year and I have not heard anything back from the dealer. So I go online and found one for approximately $40 more and decided to pull the trigger. So I called the Dealer and ask for my $$$ back and I was told to come in for the refund. I get there to the dealership and the guy decided to go to the back room and bring my paper work and low and behold he had a package with him.
 . I was like how come you guys never called and informed me that Honey Boo Boo has arrived (that's the name my wife has given to her, for reasons I don't know). Well she said it was the first name that came in mind. So Honey Boo Boo is home and she sure is a thing of beauty. I cleaned her up and oiled all the parts. I have been taking her apart (disassembling and reassembling) again and again. I'm obsessed already.  It is my first 1911 of and boy I have been missing out greatly. Honey Boo Boo will be going to the range this weekend and a range report with follow soon. (See Range Report on Response #15 on this post)PS. I paid $679.(+ $72 in taxes and shipping) Thanks

Nice. Congrats on the new 1911. I have held and inspected these at gunshows and gunshops, and everytime I come away impressed. Ruger did good in the styling and features on their 1911.

I almost bought a few others in waiting, but really like the look of the Ruger.
Nice gun! That is the kind of surprise you like. Why did they not call? That would have really bothered me. |

 Still a nice gun, might have to take a closeer look at one, I can always use another 1911 and Ruger is known for making nice guns. Maybe I can take a grinder to the lawyerease and just tell everyone it’s from a gun rest and one million rounds. Think anyone will believe that,,, the grinder I mean?

Range Report
I took Honey Boo Boo to the range this morning and fired 100rds .45 ACP Ammo by Sellier & Bellot - 230gr FMJ and 16rds 45 Auto 185 gr FTX® Critical Defense. I will like to report that she came out with a clean bill of health. 100% performance because she was flawless.
Below are some photosThe first image: 00106 ( was the first 15rds fired in two seconds burst at 7yrd/21ft). The second image 00107 was the continuation of the first one with additional 15rds (totaling 30rds) The last/third image, I performed a rapid fire with a new paper target using four different Ruger Magazines and firing a total of 30 rds. The rest of the ammo was used in shooting a decent grouping at 16yrds/50ft. I also shot some scenario targets at 10yrds/30ft and it was dead on. As far as I know Honey Boo Boo was more accurate than her handler

I waited over 6 months for mine. It was well worth the wait. For the price it's a very nice 1911.
Now they're readily available around here. |

Seems like honey boo boo would be a better name for a hi-point. Over weight and ugly for no apparent reason. Your 1911 seems more like a jessica alba, slim but curvy in all the right areas...
