Shok Buff for S&W E series

Anyone use the Wilson shok buff for their S&W 1911 E-series. I've heard different reports for different 1911s using shok buffers. I would be using it on a competition gun shoot 200-300 rds a day at a competition.

I don't see the point in using them on a 1911. If the thing is running right it's more likely to mess stuff up than help. The one time I tried one it kept the slide from going back far enough to eject the round.

I don't run buffers in any of my 1911s and don't have issues with them.

I don't run any kind of buffer in any of my weapons. I had one in a 1911 and it was destroyed right away. All you're doing is introducing foreign material that could jam up your gun. If they really needed them the industry would have realized it by now and they would come from the factory with them.

I've never seen buffers do anything but cause problems, except in certain model H&K semis.

(I haven't owned one of those H&Ks, but have been informed by knowledgeable H&K enthusiasts that they are appropriate and required for those specific models.)

I'm unfamiliar with those designs, but fairly familiar with others. That said, I don't know what a buffer is intended to do in non-H&K guns, as in most gun designs, the buffer isn't protecting the gun, the frame, or the shooter...
