lubing cases for a progressive press
My press is a single stage. I have always wondered how you lube and clean the lube off the cases when loading rifle bottlenecked cases on a progressive. Is it possible.
I would think you would have to lube the case before insertion, then size the case, remove the case and clean it off, then reinsert it into the press again.

For my .223 on a Lee Pro 1000, the cases get run through the press twice: the first time decaps/resizes, and the second primes/charges/"bulletizes"/crimps. I think it's still a fair bit faster than using a single stage, if not quite as precise at measuring powder. I can resize & decap 327 pieces of brass (all I had at the time) in about ten minutes.
The biggest chunk of time comes from trimming & deburring. Once that's done and the cases have been cleaned, loading those 300+ cases takes about an hour after the dies are adjusted, powder measure is checked, etc. |

You just remove the lube after the bullet is seated.

Tumble the loaded rounds for a few minutes in a vibratory tumbler.
