Mossberg 835 18" Barrel?
I have a Mossberg 835 with a 26" barrel. I would like to adapt it for HD with an 18" barrel without spending the price of a new gun. Mossberg does not show one; nor several other suppliers I have looked at. Is there any such item?

I don't believe 18.5" barrels are available for the 835. Since Mossberg have 500s, 590s, and 930s designated for tactical/HD purposes, they probably don't see the need to have tactical 835s. You may be able to find 20" turkey barrels.

You could always cut the barrel down and buy another barrel for hunting and such. Or you could sell that gun and buy the 930 dual barrel combo.

Or, you could leave it alone and use it as is - there is no rule that says a HD MUST have an 18.5" barrel. If your plan is to hunker down in the MBR while calling 911, barrel length is moot - if your intent is to "sweep" your house that might not always be the best idea
