Buckmark Barrel Attachment Question

So my buddy that has an older Buckmark and is always asking me to ask questions about it online for him since he doesn't have a computer has another question. He took his gun apart tonight only to see this where the screw goes into the barrel to hold it on.

To me it looks odd for sure and almost like the mill or something slipped. Is this normal? Are they all like this, or is this one a problem? Any negative effects to shooting it like this? Once the screw is tightened down it seems to hold the barrel on tight.

looks like an imperfection in the casting? I wouldn't sweat it seems like alotta metal there to handle .22lr power levels. I would contact Browning if you really are concerned.
