Installing a barrel pin on a S&W
Is it possible for a gun smith to pin a barrel on a gun that didn't have one to begin with? Thank you.

Yes, but two questions occur to me.
Why? Are you willing to pay a good deal of money for it? |

Thank you
Just wondered. I'm more partical to the pinned barreled S&Ws, however I do have a few non-pinned and it just was nagging me. I've got a S&W frame and Colt barrel project on my mind and it just seems that I can't find a good frame that is pinned. I just feel better if it is pinned than non-pinned. Thanks again

Don't let it nag at you. By itself it doesn't really amount to much. But when they were doing it to their production guns it meant that the entire gun was hand built by guys who really cared about what they were doing. Sadly those days are long gone. (And not just at S&W)
