Interesting. Any idea if the deer was injured or wounded by a hunter, car or something besides the "cat".

A Texas oil man, Clinton Manges, has a 120,000-acre ranch near Freer, Texas. He decided he wanted to start an elk herd. He bought some. His foreman found where an 85-pound female mountain lion had killed one of the cow elk, and had dragged the carcass some 75 yards to where she could cover it with brush.

Dragging a deer is an easy chore.

Just saw that picture last week on the Cuddyback web site.
It is on the weekly photo contest part. The picture is dated 2/15/09 4:31 AM
But if that camera is anything like mine that date will mean nothing.

When I zoomed in on that picture on Cuddy's site it looks grainy just like the one you attached.
Well maybe not that grainy (after reviewing both pic's again),

Seems the cougar learned to utilize that feeder as an ambush location just as they would use a lone waterhole...
