if you have any Big 5 stores in your area they always seem to have the snipers in stock. perhaps it may be more worth it to buy one of the cheaper non-sniper models before investing the money in the sniper?

no big 5 around here that I know of
not sure if it's from getting older or I'm just spoiled but don't care for blade sights anymore
main reason I don't pick up a k-31 before there gone
would like to add a ww2 sniper and doubt if I could afford any of the other ones

yeah the 91/30 is about the cheapest sniper money can buy. from time to time AIM surplus gets one in but from what I understand you have to jump through a lot of hoops to buy from them. classic may be the way to go.

I researched this extensively about a year ago when I was considering a "real" Mosin sniper purchase.

Overwhelmingly, my research led to me to the RGuns snipers. They have been thoroughly vetted, and authenticated as the "real deal" by guys that know what they're talking about (and I sure don't know all the "ins and outs")...and there are a LOT of counterfeits out there- far more than the genuine snipers.

It's all too easy to slap a scope on a 91/30 fudge some numbers and call it a "sniper".

Don't take my word for it. Do some research on Gunboards, and Surplusrifle forum.

I use SOG. They always have a good selection, although I have never bought the Snipers.

.

sog has newly put together 91-30 snipers
I did consider getting one from them when they were alot cheaper than a ww2sniper but there pretty close in price now to a real ww2 sniper

checked rguns there description is the same as what classic has
but classic is $200 cheaper
classic's are imported by IO and I also like that they put there import stamp on the bottom of the barrel rather than on the receiver
I will post a bunch of pictures when I get it
hopefully I will get a good one

If and when you get one here is a link to help you adjust the scope so the reticle is centered or closer to it.
