broken shell extractor- can not remove-Help
A friend of mine was showing me how a broken shell extractor worked. He put it in the chamber and released the bolt. He said it would grab the case and pull it out. The only problem was he did not have a broken case in the chamber when he did all of this. How can he get this out without missing up his rifle? I told him to slam the buttstock on the ground and pull the charging handle back at the same time. Did not work. Please help!

Can you take the upper off of the lower?
You need to unlock the bolt by driving the bolt carrier to the rear. Once the upper is off the lower, turn the upper upside down and use a brass punch or wood dowel and hammer to drive the bolt carrier to the rear to unlock the bolt. Hopefully, the broken shell extractor will come with the bolt as you drive the bolt carrier rearward. |
