Where does your handgun go when you're driving?

Mine is usually IWB on my 4:00 when I'm driving so I get out of the car with a breeze and with haste if need be. But for the sake of visualization I'll post pics..right now. Live from my Mustang GT

My holster @ 4:00 fits most of the guns you see on my signature.

My SIG 1911 XO is outside now cause I have to move it to the back pack it's on.

Finally the safe that wraps around the seat for when it has to be locked in the car. Which is rare now.

And now. Gotta go!

SIG 1911 XO / SA 1911 custom / Colt Gold Cup / Colt 70 Series / SIG P226 e2 / Browning High-power / Walther PPQ / G34 / G19 / G21 / G22 / S&W M-19 / Hk USP 40 / Rem 870 / Rock R. AR-15

I typically carry at 2:00, but when I sit into a vehicle I slide my holster to 3 so that the barrel doesn't dig into my leg.

The one that I carry is on my hip. As to the others left at home, I have no idea where they go, but they're always back in place when I get home.

Long trip it stays in my shoulder rig. Short trips on my hip..On person is better IMO.

If I'm carrying while driving it's usually an LCP in my back pocket. My Model 10 snubbie lives in the center console 24x7.

In the center console, where either of us (wife and I) can reach it. Rod

Mine stays firmly attached to me. If I have to get out of the car or am forced out of the car it's coming with me.

My LCP stays in my pocket. All other guns stay in their OWB holster at 8 o'clock.

It stays in it's holster, on my hip, unless I have to remove it to go into a place where carry is not permitted. Then, it goes into a lockbox beneath my seat.

My 642 stays in my pocket at 12:30, 3:00, 5:15, pretty much at all times during the day.

I like to stuff whatever I am carrying at that time between the seat and center console, or storage bin. I leave the grip sitting above for ease of draw. YMMV.

belt / holster

BIG believer that your pistol needs to be in your holster, on your belt or rig. Those guns clipped or loose may end up who knows where in a collision, what's to say one in a door pocket or console that takes a lick is even accessable. A car bump is a common thug tactic.

The BIG reason is that you leave the dang gun in the vehicle, and you get out for something mindless, like pumping gas, and you need it.

I have gone many hours, 6-8 in a veh, behind the wheel, with a full size auto in a belt hoslter even with my pants seam. I am a pretty big guy and had no probs.

I can't begin to count the time with a duty rig.

In my holster, normally.

In my center console, in a Console Vault, if necessary.
