I have some ammo that I am going to be saving for a while. I think that a good way to store it would be to box a couple hundred rounds at a time, throw in a desi-pak, and vacuum-seal the whole deal in heavy-ish duty plastic.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a good, but not terribly expensive, vacuum sealer? I have seem others mention their use here.

When packing a "survival bag", I often pack extra clothes in gallon-size zip-locks, but sit on them or otherwise evacuate as much of the air as I can, before I seal them. This drastically reduces the volume of mashable things like socks, fleeces, etc, and makes packing easier - not to mention that they will be dry when I "need" them.
