Help with info on Wilcox Lam

I recently acquired a wilcox lam (laser aiming modul) that came with a firearm i purchased. I have searched the internet and been unable to come up with much info on them. It is actually two parts, one a laser/infared (the nightstalker) and the other a flashlight (beamer), which actually fit together. Ive established that it was originially designed for the hk mark 23. It seems it is some sort of collectable as i have seen absurd asking prices for it. I was wondering if any of you guys could help out with info on these. Rarity, number made, that sort of thing, but really i want to know what i have. Thanks all in advance.
