RE: 45-70 GOVT loads Any links to reference data?
"Newbie here to the board", "Hello Everyone"
I was wondering if anyone might know of any good links to reloading data regarding the 45-70 GOVT to be used in Lever action rifle (Marlin 1895 Guide Rifle)... I like to load 300 GN Speer HP, using IMR_3031 powder, with a comfortable, enjoyable, powder reduced load, that wouldnt have that bad a shoulder kick, as in my hunting loads. I've not found much on the subject, for a 300 gn, unless I have discovered them yet, thought I ask around.... |

45-70
Do you have a reloading manual?? Go on the net and type in --reloading powders--and look at every manufacturers data for the 45-70 or any other caliber. There is much data on the net for the 45-70...

I have a older Sierra manual, which shows about 8 loads for the 45-70 Govt but the lowest grain bullet found is 350 gn. I found a bit more on the 45-70 which speaks of trapdoor loads, or dont use those loads on lever actions, same as with loads for bolt actions, and such...
I keep searching though....thanks for the reply...just the same....
