How to Remove the Mag Tube on an Ithaca M37

Does anyone know how the mag-tube attaches to the receiver? It seems like it would be threaded, but none of the usual methods I've used (that I don't think will break the tube) can budge it. Mine is a 1976 Featherlight, and feeling around, it seems like the tube is slid over a short (3") section of tubing that actually goes into the receiver. I've applied some penetrating oil, but still no dice when trying to unscrew it (by hand ).

Thanks for the tips,
TCB

Sweet! I figured I just needed to apply a tad more force (with the proper tools, of course)

Thanks,
TCB
