Renew/ New Lic?

I let my lic expire back in 08 when prices seemed to keep going up. I have now decided that i want to start collecting again since prices seem to be getting back to resonable. I am wondering if i need to complete a whole new application or if there is a shortcut that I'm missing to get it reinstated?

If your license lapsed, it's as if you never had one.

You need to start from square 1.
(Not that it's a huge deal for C&R anyway)

You do not need to log your current collection in the new Bound Book, but you can if you want to. Once you get the License, any guns you acquire or get rid of need to be logged.

Thanks I figured that was how it worked but i wasn't sure what to do with the original logs and if they had to see them prior to issuing a new Lic. I know i was told that if it expires you no longer are required to keep them but i thought that since i would eventually renew or reapply it might be nice to hang onto them.
Thanks again.

You can destroy your original Bound Book if you want. Once your license lapses, it is no longer a legal document as far as ATF is concerned. Dealers need to send their Book in if they give up the license, but not C&R holders.

You could use the same book if you want. The only thing that really matters is that any acquisitions/dispositions are logged once you are licensed again.
