I bought 3000 small pistol primers and 2 pounds of Winchester 231 powder. These are things I needed, not to stock pile. I bought them from our local gun shop. The prices were $34.00 per thousand and $21.00 per pound. I thought they may be hard to get, but he had plenty of both on hand. I guess I can consider myself lucky.

I picked up two Bushmaster a/r's new from Sportsmans Warehouse 2 days after CT. Prices were the regular price. The a/r's were flying off the shelf. Now they have nothing in the way of an a/r left. These added to the others I already own, and which I'll give my two adult sons as soon as they exit the military. I'll keep one for myself.
The other day I picked up an HK P30 new at normal retail prices, although it had just been received and put on the shelf. Ordered online some extra 15 round mags from HK Parts. NOt cheap, but not very inflated. |

I didn't buy anything either. I reload everything I shoot but 22 and 22mag. I had just bought 10,000 rounds of 22lr and 5,000 rounds of 22mag in August so I'm set with rimfire. I keep several years of powder, primers and bullets on hand so I'm just sitting back laughing at all of the crazy prices people are paying. I figure when things settle down the market will have to lower prices to move stuff because consumers will be over stocked and not buying. I'll buy then. I've never wanted a black rifle and still don't. I'm not knocking them just don't care for them. I think it is MY right to decide if I own one or not. Not King Obama's or Princess Fienstien's

A PAP M92. It's a Yugo AK pistol, Krikov style, that I want to turn into a SBR. Shoulda bought it before the madness, and I could have waited for things to settle down, but this might not return to the market place. That's what happened to the Draco's I waited to buy a year or two ago.
I'm ok on AK's, AR's and ammo, just wanted to grab a new "something" for christmas. |

Universal M1 carbine, seven 15 round magazines, 800 rounds of ammunition and spent in the neighborhood of $650. I wanted another AR but couldn't touch one, for a price I was willing to pay. Plus M1's will be on the banned list just as the same as the AR's.

Luckily I just inherited a 1943 Inland M1, 500 rounds, two 30 round magazines and a bunch of 15 rounders. Can't beat free guns! It's a shame they're trying to ban these neat little rifles. They're so fun to shoot, and a piece of history to boot.

Forgot to mention I bought lifetime memberships to the NRA for my wife and daughter. That was my most expensive purchase of the frenzy.

S&W 556 AR
My local shop is expecting a shipment of 15 of these in the next couple days for $900. I plan on picking one of those up. Hopfully I can grab one, they don't reserve and it'll be first come, first served. Wish me luck.

Completed my Winchester model 43 collection (.22 Hornet, .218 Bee, 32/20 WCF) with a .25/20 WCF! Not exactly state of the art ... but cool and somewhat rare.

I sold my S&W M&P 15 Sport for an awesome profit and upgraded to a Colt SP 6920. The timing was perfect.

Today a new Smith & Wesson M&P 9mm 4". It was on my list late fall as a back up gun for my M&P 9 pro 5" and with all this high magazine capacity nonsense I decided today was the day to take care of this want.
Now if I can just get my backorder filled for the 6 M&P 17 round magazines, I will be set. |

I say this because the state I live in, which is Massachusetts, was hit hard by the last AWB in 94', as was California. No particular platforms of weapons were banned, but certain features were restricted. No folding stocks, no forward pistol grip, no flash suppressors, and a few other ridiculous things that made no sense other than legislators thought they made the guns look scary. But the worst of it is no high-cap mags unless grandfathered in. The reason I say I don't think AR's and the like will be banned is if I see anything passing, I see it following suite with Mass. and California. Hopefully it does not come to that, but logically it seems like that would be the next step. The whole thing is full of pure ignorance and simple mindedness. To want to ban things like barrel shrouds based solely because they look scary, which by the way serve the purpose of not injuring the person shooting, just shows how naive these people are. |
