My first "modern" revolver

Just picked this one up yesterday. It is a New England Firearms R92, 9 shot DA/SA with a swing out cylinder. Traded a Hi Point C9 for it.

My first modern cartridge revolver.

A good solid first handgun, cheap to feed and good for developing skills that will translate to whatever you chose later on.
My sister in law has one of these in .32 S&W.

I have a similarly low cost revolver, a High Standard nine shot .22 I got dirt cheap many years ago, and left in a box forgotten till recently.

I had thought it was a German made piece of junk till I cleaned all the accumulated crud off it.
This revolver had been carried by an elderly lady in her purse for decades unfired, and had lipstick , nail polish, candy wrappers, lint , and other less identifiable stuff stuck to every exposed surface.
When I cleaned it up it turned out to be in excellent condition.

At forty feet it puts every bullet into a single ragged hole smaller than a nickel.
Not bad for twenty bucks.

Not a beauty queen?

Beauty, as they say, is in the eyes of the beholder. Those little .22 revolvers are not only as cute as can be, but are generally a good value and great fun for the price.

If that's your first "modern cartridge revolver," what, pray tell, have been your previous revovlers? Cap and Ball? Remington Beals?

My other revolver is an 1858 New Army .44. Fun gun, but I have to be in a mood to shoot it and deal with the mess.
