finally got my glock 19-almost!

Ok guys, after much deliberation and waiting on my LTC. I picked up a Glock 19 (new.. 3rd gen) for 450$. it should be here in about a week so im pumped. is there any specific load/ammo type i should use to break it in? also does anyone know of a website where i can order training(dummy) rounds at a decent price?

thanks guys

First, congrats, you made IMO a very wise decision! Second, Glock does not require a break-in period. You can use cheap WWB(Winchester White Box) practice ammo that you can usually find at WalMart. For SD ammo, find you several different brands and try them out for yourself to ensure they feed and fire reliably in your new G19. Speer is likely the most popular with Hornady and Double Tap being 2 popular brands as well. As for dummy rounds, do a search for snap caps. Good luck.

I have the same pistol; it has fed every cheap ammo I've come across and every hollowpoint I've tried without a hitch. You're going to like this gun.

I've heard that it's perfectly safe to dry fire your Glock, in case you can't find snap caps.

Dry Fire

Your G19 trigger will get better and better the more you dry fire it.
Keep your ammo in the other room, rack, click, repeat.
You will not hurt a Glock by dry firing it, even the Glock manual says dry fire is OK.

The trigger does improve, and you will get a better feel for where the reset point is.

It's all good....

Based on my name you can probably guess I'm a little bias, but the G19 is an awesome gun! As far as ammo goes, for FMJ I shoot Winchester White Box ammo. It's cheap and it works well. For self defense ammo I use Hornady Critical Defense FTX bullets.
