short review on the springfield XD/s
I recently got a free pass to the local indoor range for buying a gun at the last gunshow so today I decided to take the little brother in and check it out. they charge by the hour which seems a bit steep but the gun rentals are only 8 dollars and you can exchange it as many times as you want as long as they are all the same caliber so it's not horrible bad if you plan it out right. we decided to go with a new addition to their rack: the springfield XDS.
I love the XD and XDM lineups so I was excited when I saw one so I wasted no time getting it to the firing line. it was a particularly short trip due to a time crunch but I instantly picked up on Key XD features that it shares with it's larger counterparts. 1.crisp trigger though the reset appears to be shorter than the XD and XDMs. 2.decent sights 3. very accurate though my groups at 15 yards were much wider than usual though understandable due to the sight radius and pistol size. however the cons are pretty obvious: 1. very small and difficult to get a firm grip if you have large hands. 2. very stiff recoil as could be expected. overall I was impressed with how well a small gun like this is able to live up to it's full sized counterparts however due to it's very small size I doubt I would ever purchase one unless I was able to get it for a steal.

Rented one at Shooter's World here in Phoenix, agree with you, nasty recoil. Nearly Airweight level.
