I use center hold on fixed sight handguns, and see where the holes end up, adjusting accordingly per handgun once I know where things are going.
If adjustable sighted, like the PT99 I use 6 o clock and adjust to place holes where needed. YMMV... and of course, different weight ammo might mean different results. Confused? Take it to the range with some good ammunition, learn where it shoots. Enjoy. Don't worry, be happy. First FA? (firearm?) Then kudos. Be safe as well.

A lot depends on the hands holding the gun and they eyes looking through the sights. On PT 92's I've shot I cover 1/2 of the bullseye.

There is no perfect answer for a fixed sight gun. The sights point where they point while the human factor and ammo used will change things here and there. The best way for you to see is to shoot from a sandbag rest until you are getting 4 inch or better groups (from 25 yards which is a common length), then you will know where your gun shoots with that ammo with as little human factor as possible.

On a Beretta 92, you want sight picture 3. Since the Taurus is a clone of the 92, I assume it would be the same...
