How well do they feed 2.75" and 3" shells?
How reliable are they? |

Lots of experience with the 870, absolutely none with the 3.5 inch version. IMO, the 3.5 is an answer to a nonexistent question. Of course, others may differ(G).
However, there won't be many or any feed problems with the shorter shells. Feed glitches turn up when doing the longer stuff, not the shorter round that have the ends close to the pivot point. |

I got a Super Mag 870 for my birthday--fired 100+ rounds of 2 3/4. No problems feeding. I don't know if I need the 3 1/2 inches, but it's nice to know I can...

Both the 870 Supermag, and the Mossberg 835 handle shorter shells just fine. Remington also just released a 3 1/2" 1187 auto. I can take or leave a 3 1/2" gun for turkeys, but if you have ever hunted geese you would love the extra muscle!( steel shot sucks, and Bismuth is too expensive!)
