Roll Crimping
Can someone tell me what this means. I got it out of Lymans 49th edition.
Does it apply to 9mm or .45ACP

What it means is that if you over roll crimp a semi auto case that seats on the upper end (rim) of the case the round will end up to far into the chamber.
This can make for unreliable rounds and failures. Its one reason that every auto that I reload for I use a taper crimp. It allows for a firm crimp but leaves the rim of the case so it can seat on it when it’s in the chamber. It applies to any auto rimless case. |

9mm and 45acp should have a taper crimp. The roll crimp applys to revolver loads for the most part.

"...Does it apply to 9mm or .45ACP..." Absolutely. Both headspace on the case mouth. No roll crimp for either.
Read the whole manual before you load anything.
