25-06 loads

Have any of you used the 115 gain Barnes X bullets and the 120 grain Hornady Interlock bullets in the 25-06? If so would you share your load data and comments. thank you.

This loading is one of the most accurate out of my Sendero, and cloverleafs at 100 yds. are the norm. Unfortunately I have never been lucky enough to draw an antelope tag to try it out. It has truly jerked the dirt from under a couple whitetails though.

Caliber: 25-06
Case: Winchester
Bullet: Hornady 120 gr. HP
Powder: Reloader 22
Charge: 51.5
Primer: Winchester Lg Rifle
OAL: 3.263

Average velocity: 2902
Extreme spread: 12 fps.

I'm at work, and don't have the data on the charge. sorry...The 117 BTSP is an optimal bullet. i don't have this gun anymore, but the gun I used to have really liked H4895 SC. Standard cut shot the same. It would shoot clover leafs consistantly.

I think you mean 4831 SC. 4895 is a tad fast for the 25-06. I also use H-4831 with around 54 grains, if I recall correctly, with a 100gr. Sierra hunting bullet. My short Shaw skinny barreled winchester will put them into less than an inch at 100. Others have told me IMR 4350 is the ticket but it has not worked as well as 4831 for my rifles.

My 06 is 1/2"er easy with Hornady 117 SPBT's and IMR 3031. I'm almost positive my load is 37.0gr, but let me check that and make sure when I get home. I shot some of the Barnes 120's that I got in a trade, they don't do well at all for me. 1.5" @100 was the absoulte best I got out of 5 groups.
