colt 1908 380 pocket pistol
I am having trouble getting the hammer into the pistol. I have gotten advice off different sites but I still can't get the hammer to fit between the spring then move over enough to put the safety pin in. Of course it's simple, but what is the secret???

I fought that one for years before learning the simple trick. Hold the gun in the right hand, squeezing the trigger and grip safety at the same time. The hammer will go right in and you can easily line it up for inserting the safety.
