.277 Bullet and Ogive length

For anybody who's interested and has the tools, I'm looking to get the length of various .277 bullets as well as their ogive length (base to ogive).

Yes, the "bullet", not the whole cartridge.

QL has shank length.

I can look them up if you name what bullet you want info for.

Nothing in particular. I only have one on hand, which is 90gr Sierra.

I was just curious about the chamber differences between my .270WSM and other rifles.

The 270 loaded to 2.700 (book length) with 90gr Sierras is only .063 off the rifling.

My others guns are much farther from the rifling at stock length.

Seemed odd, so I wondered how other bullets were shaped.

Brian:
1. 130 grn Partition, .597, 1.127 total length
2.140 grn B-tip, .741, 1.282 total length
3.130 grn B-tip, .660, 1.216 total length
4.130 grn Accubond, .694, 1.241 total length
These were measured with my Hornady Comparator and the # 6 bushing, set and rezeroed.

Cool, thanks!

Let's see here. My 90s measure .440 and .841.

My OAL measured with comparator is 2.310.

Those 130gr Partitions loaded to same comparator measurement would be 2.840 "true" OAL.

The others are about the same, distance from ogive to tip of your 4 is .530, .547, .556 and .541

So, the longest I could get with the same distance from rifling (.004) would be 2.866, so only .166 over book length.

That's the shortest free bore I've seen in a rifle, not that I've seen a lot. Even my .204 can be loaded that far over.
