Handgun questions
I need some holster recommendations for a S & W 629 Classic 6 1/2". I am leaning towards a shoulder holster. Any thoughts, opinions or recommendations are more than welcome.
What about some factory ammo? Shot some .44 Special 246gr LRN that were very accurate, light recoil and a joy to shoot even for girlfriend. Need some hunting and plinking ammo. suggestions. Is there any factory ammo. that duplicates the old Elmer Keith 250gr loads? Without hurting the wallets! Someday I will reload but for now factory ammo. will have to do! __________________ |

What are your goals for the holster? Concealment or open carry? In what kind of climate?

For hunting, I'd go with an Uncle Mike's shoulder rig. More cost effective. You will only use them during hunting season, so no point in tying up a bundle of money on leather. my.02 worth. hpg

I used one of these for hunting. Carried a S&W 629. Try here: http://www.sportsmansguide.com/cb/cb.asp?a=221814

For hunting, I'd suggest a conventional belt holster, not a shoulder holster. Back when I was hunting (I no longer do), I'd strap on my black basket-weave cop-style holster, and the other hunters seemed to respect that I was armed, and not a PETA lurker.
Just my $0.02. |
