Highest price on an unfired 586-4 with box?
What would be the highest price you would pay for an unfired(I know they fired it in the factory) 586-4 blue with 4inch barrel with box/papers and unopened cleaning kit?

I wouldn't exceed $500 or so. I'd stay in the $475~$495 range.

The 586/686 suffers from the same low resale (though not quite as bad) as the model 10. It is a police design and gazillions were made with many many trade-ins that keep the market low. For instance a 99% model 27 will bring $900, a 99% model 10 will only get $400.
I would pay $650 for a 586 as you describe. Here in houston, TX pre-lock S&Ws bring premium cash. |

Yeah I would be in the 650 MAX range. IF it's truly unfired, but keep in mind when you use it the value will drop... in a 7? years maybe value will come up to meet what you paid for it.
I personally prefer to buy good condition, but used, maybe no box / papers guns that are "sleepers" if you buy them right you might buy at a price where next week if you don't want it getting your money out is easy and you might even make 50 bucks. Harder on a blue gun as they show more wear than stainless. |

Never mind, someone thought it was worth over $750. I would really like to know where all of you are getting good deal on 586s. I have found many good deals on 19s, so, I guess when I when I want a 19 they will be through the roof and 586s will abound.
